Facebook refuses to delete a page that jokes about rape
It's called "You know that is the making hard when the chase down the alley" and has almost 207,000 fans. Some believe that jokes about rape. But Facebook refuses to remove it.
Perhaps the creators of the page "You know she's playing hard to get her down When your chasing an alleyway" never imagined they would get as much media coverage and policy in question would ban facebook. Its creators say that the page is just a joke between friends, but the fact is that some see in it an obvious joke about rape.
They have stated more than 180,000 people have signed a petition, enReino Kingdom and the United States to eliminate the facebook page.
The rights and responsibilities declación social network reads: "Do not send messages: they are hateful, threatening, pornographic, inciting violence, which contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence."
However, in the complaint occurred, facebook did not want to delete the page, saying they want to "Facebook is a place where people can openly discuss issues and express their views, respecting the rights and feelings of others. The groups or pages that express an opinion about a state institution or belief - even if that opinion is outrageous and offensive to some - in itself does not violate our policies. "
Faced with this refusal, the group Women's Views on News (WVN), regretted the decision with these words: "It is increasingly clear that the administrators of Facebook dismiss entirely the concerns of some 200,000 people on both sides of the pond that have signed petitions against websites promoting rape and violence against women. "
The politics of rights and responsibilities of facebook with this case has been questioned, because the non-removal of this page's refusal contrasts with facebook to allow, for example, upload photos while mothers breastfeed their children because the photo shows a nipple.
